Blue on blue (Mixed patterns)

Blue is one of my favorite colors and in this post I wanted to wear something  blue but went with the mixed prints, polka dots versus checkered pants to break the monotony of a solid color...Be inspired!

Oh Mickey! Grown woman edition

When I first purchased this Mickey Mouse sweater my 10 year old thought it was meant for her which kind of made me doubt if in fact it was not appropriate for someone my age then again I thought...hmmmnnn!, I really like this sweater and I like Mickey so who cares, Its about me being confident and comfortable and invoking that inner kid in me and that's exactly how I feel in this sweater not to mention the countless ways I am able to style it. I did however tell my daughter she could wait another 15 years and it could be totally vintage!...aaah the joys of motherhood!...Live life, Love life, Be inspired...It's a lifestyle.!

The look for less

I love when designers make affordable clothes for the average working mom like me, I purchased this Narciso Rodriguez coat from Kohls a few months back at 80 % off you can imagine my delight and the shirt dress is from Kirna Zabete via Target. It's more of a purple color rather than the blue portrayed in the pictures...Live life, Love life, Be inspired...It's a lifestyle!

The leather mini

Let me just say this little skirt is one of my husbands favorites pieces of clothing and given that he is my photographer once in a while I like to make him happy and wear the outfits that make him grin...(shaking my head) however I do like this skirt because it makes me feel young and vibrant. I also take a lot of cues from my daughters and they love this particular styling idea, my advice is tights are a good way to keep it classy and cover up the upper part of the body for a more demure look and avoid the trashy look.

The head wrap

This look is that unexpected but daring and funky fun look. I wanted to pay homage to my beloved Africa where a head tie is part of the day to day wear and is meant to give a woman some dignity and humility. Of course I chose a different route as I wanted it to be more of a funky hip look, and this serves as alternative for a bad hair day, I have these head wrap cloths in different colors and I'm loving them more and embracing my roots more as I grow older.

These boots are made for walking

Need I say more, another shift dress amongst many others and I couldn't say anything more than the more the merrier ( love them) For winter I added the boots and tights, these boots are definitely one of my most treasured, they are comfortable and are definitely made for walking because I can walk miles in them. Received our first snow and I know these boots will be on rotation for a while.
